CEC Kargil Attends Laptop Distribution Ceremony for Meritorious Students of 10th and 12th class Under LAHDC Subsidy Scheme.
Kargil, November 26, 2025: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon, today attended the distribution ceremony of free laptops awarded to meritorious students under the LAHDC Subsidy Scheme. The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC, Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, Chief Education Officer Kargil, along with students and their parents.
Speaking on the occasion, CEC Dr. Jaffer Akhoon congratulated the meritorious students and their parents for achieving an important milestone in their academic journey. He said LAHDC Kargil is making every possible effort to provide quality education, equal opportunities and better learning resources to students across the district.
He highlighted that remedial classes and hostel facilities are proving to be instrumental in improving the academic performance of students in government schools. The CEC said that LAHDC Kargil has a clear vision to strengthen the education sector and is committed to working continuously towards upgrading educational standards.
Dr. Akhoon also informed that a holistic and fair transfer policy for teachers has been drafted and will be implemented , keeping in view the academic interests and overall benefit of students. He appreciated Deputy Commissioner Kargil for successfully conducting free and fair DSSRB Class 12 recruitment examinations and expressed confidence that the upcoming recruitment exams will also be conducted with the same transparency and dedication.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Kargil Rakesh Kumar said that, in collaboration with LAHDC Kargil, the district administration is fully geared to provide logical, reasoning-based and conceptual education to students. He announced that Kargil Digital Classes have been launched, where teachers and lecturers are recording topic-wise lectures that will be provided to students free of cost. This initiative is expected to significantly help students clear their doubts and strengthen their understanding.
The DC also lauded the Education Department for playing a pivotal role in the overall development of the education sector in the district.
Under the LAHDC Subsidy Scheme, the Education Department has distributed around 42 laptops each year in 2022–23, 2023–24 and 2024–25, enabling students to access digital learning tools and enhancing their academic capabilities.
