CEC Kargil Chairs Meeting on Transportation Facilities for GNM Students; Discusses Issues Related to Samagra Urdu Candidates.
Kargil, May 13, 2026: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today chaired a meeting at Council Secretariat, Kargil, with Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Rakesh Kumar (IAS), to discuss transportation facilities for GNM students and other important education-related issues.
During the meeting, the CEC and Deputy Commissioner directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), and SIDCO officials to streamline the operation of E-buses for the convenience of students. They stressed the need for proper coordination with educational institutions to identify different routes, timings, and the student strength requiring transport facilities so that buses can be operated efficiently and students can be accommodated accordingly.
The Chair also emphasized that concessional fare facilities should be provided to students to ensure affordable transportation.
The meeting further discussed issues related to Urdu candidates under Samagra, wherein the matter regarding the operationalization of the waiting list as per requirement and sanctioned strength was also highlighted.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Ghulam Mohammad, Chief Medical Officer Kargil Dr. Mohd Abass, ARTO Khadim Hussain, In-charge Medical Superintendent Dr. Sajjad Hussain and officials from SIDCO.
