CEC Kargil Dr. Jaffer Akhoon Inspects Ongoing Road Construction and Widening Works in Sankoo.
Kargil, June 04, 2026: Hon’ble Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today conducted a comprehensive inspection of the ongoing road construction and widening works in Sankoo area, taking stock of the progress on the ground and issuing firm directions to the concerned officials for timely and quality execution.
During the inspection, Hon’ble Councillor Sankoo, Agha Ahmad Rizvi, accompanied the Hon’ble CEC. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sankoo, revenue officials, engineers of SVD Sankoo, engineers of NHIDCL, Incharge Police Post Sankoo, and the contractor Top Line Agency were also present on the occasion.
Hon’ble CEC Dr. Akhoon thoroughly reviewed the progress of the road construction and widening works and directed the concerned officials to identify and fix all bottlenecks hampering the smooth execution of the project. He specifically instructed that the actual prescribed width of the road, which is 40 feet, must be strictly maintained throughout the stretch, and that no compromise on this standard would be acceptable.
Hon’ble CEC further directed the SDM Sankoo to take prompt and effective measures to resolve all issues being faced by the public in connection with the ongoing works, ensuring minimum inconvenience to local residents during the construction period.
