CEC Kargil, Dr Jaffer Akhoon Welcomes 239 Haj Pilgrims from Ladakh.

Kargil, June 26, 2025 – Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of the LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, today warmly received the Haj pilgrims from Ladakh who returned after successfully completing the holy pilgrimage to Mecca. The CEC was accompanied by Executive Councillor Zakir Hussain.
A total of 239 pilgrims from Ladakh UT performed the Hajj this year. All the pilgrims returned in good health and high spirits, marking the successful culmination of their spiritual journey.
While welcoming the Hajis at Srinagar, Dr. Akhoon congratulated them on fulfilling one of the most significant pillars of Islam. He expressed hope that the pilgrims would have prayed for the peace, prosperity, and overall well-being of Ladakh and its people during their stay in the holy land.
“This spiritual journey not only strengthens personal faith but also inspires community harmony and brotherhood. We are proud of our Hajis and wish them continued blessings,” Dr. Akhoon said.
The CEC extended his congratulations to the returning pilgrims and expressed gratitude for their prayers and good wishes for the region.
The return of the Hajis was met with joy and reverence by family members and community members, who gathered to welcome them back home.
