    CEC Kargil inaugurates 15-meter span single-lane plate girder motorable bridge at Sangrah ,Attends Annual Day Function of Government Council Model High School Sangrah.

    Kargil, Nov 23, 2024: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, along with the Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse today inaugurated a 15-meter span single-lane plate girder motorable bridge at Sangrah over the Sangrah Nallah. The bridge, constructed under the SDP component, was completed at a cost of Rs 2.36 crore.
    Later, the CEC Kargil also attended the Annual Day Function of Government Council Model High School Sangrah as the chief guest. The annual day was attended by Assistant Director Tourism, Block Development Officer Sankoo, Executive Engineer PHE, Executive Engineer SVD Sankoo, Executive Engineer I&FC, Executive Engineer REW, besides parents and students.
    Speaking on the occasion, the CEC congratulated the students, teachers, and staff, commended their hard work and dedication. He emphasized the importance of education in building a strong and prosperous society.
    Dr Akhoon also extended his warm congratulations to the Headmaster, school staff members, teaching faculty and school management committee for their hard work and dedication, which led to the impressive results in last year’s CBSE board exam.
    “I am thrilled to see students of this school excel in their academic pursuits. The credit for this success goes to the entire school community, including teachers, staff and management committee, who have worked tirelessly to provide a supportive and conducive learning environment,” he said.
    The CEC expressed hope that with the same zeal and commitment, the school will achieve even better results in the upcoming year.
    In a significant announcement, the CEC Kargil also declared a grant of Rs 3 lakh from the united fund for the school’s development. Additionally, the CEC announced a special grant of Rs 15,000 from his salary for the school management committee to support their efforts in managing the school and ensuring its smooth functioning.
    Dr Akhoon also shed light on various developmental activities of the area including infrastructure development. He said many infrastructure development works are going on in full swing and many projects are in the pipeline which will be executed at the earliest.
    While stressing on initiatives to promote tourism, CEC Kargil said Sangrah has a lot of potential in the tourism sector. He directed AD Tourism Kargil to initiate steps toward the development of the region in the tourism sector. “We are committed to ensuring that the people of this region have access to all basic amenities and opportunities for growth and development,” the CEC said.
