    CEC Kargil Inspects Functioning of Departments’ Directorates and Council Secretariat Offices

    Kargil, October 06, 2025: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today conducted a surprise inspection of directorates of various departments and the Council Secretariat offices to assess the functioning, attendance, and overall work environment of the departments.
    The CEC was accompanied by Executive Councillor Ponchuk Tashi, Deputy Commissioner Kargil Rakesh Kumar, Chief Controller Finance Iftikhar Hussain, and Assistant Executive Engineer (R&B) Mansoor Hussain.
    During the inspection, Dr. Akhoon visited several key departments including the Directorate of School Education, Directorate of Social Welfare, Superintending Engineer Hydraulics, Executive Engineer PMGSY, Directorate of Tourism, Superintending Engineer R&B, Directorate of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Joint Directorate of Information, Directorate of Horticulture, Directorate of Rural Development Department (RDD), and other related offices.
    The CEC checked the attendance of employees and reviewed the cleanliness and maintenance of office premises. He directed the officers to ensure proper utilization of store rooms and to avoid unnecessary occupation of spaces, noting that several departments are facing a shortage of office accommodation.
    Dr. Akhoon also inspected the top floor of the building currently under construction and instructed for its early completion without compromising on quality standards.
    Further, the CEC and the Deputy Commissioner jointly reviewed the upcoming infrastructure near the Council Secretariat, discussing plans for future expansion and the shifting of offices to address space constraints.
    Emphasizing punctuality and discipline, the CEC directed all employees to adhere to official working hours and ensure mandatory biometric attendance.
    Dr. Akhoon stated that such inspections will be conducted regularly to ensure efficiency, accountability, and improved public service delivery across all departments.
