Focuses on identifying basic facilities in remote villages, highlights role of Constitution in social justice
Kargil, August 09, 2024: Chairman of Reservation Commission for Actual Line of Control (ALC) Ladakh, Justice Bansi Lal Bhat (Former Judge High Court of J&K and Ladakh) today visited Garkone, Darchik, Sanachay, Hordass, Gurgurdo, Batalik, Silmo, Chulichan and Lalung and interacted with the villagers near the Line of Control.
The interaction with villagers was focused on the identification of basic facilities in villages adjacent to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Justice Bansi Lal Bhat shed light on the historical perspectives of the Constitution and the justice system, illustrating how these foundations have been pivotal in advancing the welfare of marginalized groups.
He stressed that the commitment to justice and inclusivity is central to the ethos of the Indian Constitution, and no one must be left behind in the nation’s progress.
Justice Bansi Lal Bhat emphasized the importance of ensuring the welfare of all residents, particularly those who have been overlooked in previous initiatives. He stressed that justice must be accessible to every individual, with no one left behind in the region’s development efforts.
While highlighting the legacy of the Indian Constitution, he emphasized its role in shaping India as a Welfare State through its reservation policies. He emphasized the importance of these policies in ensuring social justice and equitable development for all communities, particularly those in remote areas.
The local residents brought to the notice to Honble Chairman about the hardships they encountered since the last seven decades. and complained of being treated in differently and they were being left out in the development process, they rued that due to lack of educational and economic resources the youths were facing a bleak future. They also expressed dissatisfaction for being Ignored in expediting the process of Identifying the Area adjoining ALC for extending benefit of reservation to deserving youth, moreso as such benefit has been extended to residents of similarly situated areas in J&K.
Former CEC, LAHDC, Kargil/Councillor Silmo, Feroz Khan, ADC Suhail Ahmad; Tsering Mutup Additional Secretary to ALC Commission; Hamid Ahmad Private Secretary with chairman for ALC; Naib Tehsildar Sajjad Hussain and Naib Tehsildar Mohd Ibrahim accompanied him during the visit.
