    Leh, May 19, 2026: The Chief Secretary of the UT Ladakh, Ashish Kundra, today chaired a meeting to discuss the audit for assessing ease of urban mobility from a citizen-centric perspective in the UT of Ladakh.
    During the meeting, Bhanu Singh, Deputy Director, Chandigarh, gave a detailed presentation on the Citizen Centric Compliance Audit, highlighting the objectives, approach, audit cycle, scope, and methodology of the proposed audit. The presentation also outlined the expected outcomes of the initiative, particularly in improving urban mobility systems in Leh and enhancing convenience, accessibility and overall commuting experience for citizens.
    The meeting deliberated on various aspects related to urban transport, pedestrian accessibility, road infrastructure, public convenience and sustainable mobility solutions. Emphasis was laid on adopting a citizen-focused approach to ensure efficient, inclusive and accessible urban mobility in the region.
    The Chief Secretary stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among all concerned departments for the successful implementation of the audit process and the effective assessment of existing urban mobility infrastructure. He also underscored the need to identify gaps and formulate measures for improving mobility standards in line with the needs of the public.
    The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, Shurbir Singh; Administrative Secretary, Transport Department, Bhupesh Chaudhary; Administrative Secretary, Public Works Department, Baseer Ul Haq Chaudhary; Senior Audit Officer, Lalet Kumar; Assistant Audit Officer, Mukesh Verma; Assistant Supervisor, Audit; senior officers from the concerned departments; while Principal Director of Audit, Chandigarh, Sameer Mehta, joined the meeting virtually.
