    Child Welfare Committee conducts inspection of Winter Residential Coaching Hostels in Kargil.

    Kargil, Dec 19, 2024: Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Kargil-Ladakh, today conducted a comprehensive inspection of Winter Residential Coaching Hostels across the district under Section 41 of Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection) Act 2015.
    The inspection team, comprising the Chairperson of Child Welfare Committee, Kargil, Legal Officer, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Kargil, and Special Juvenile Police Officers, visited various hostels to assess their compliance with the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, and other relevant laws.
    The inspection focused on ensuring the safety, well-being, and protection of children residing in these hostels. The team scrutinized the hostels’ infrastructure, facilities, and services, including food, sanitation, and education.
    The Chairperson of Child Welfare Committee, Kargil, Dr Niyaz Ali emphasized the importance of these inspections in safeguarding the rights and interests of children. “We are committed to ensuring that all children in Kargil district are protected from exploitation, abuse, and neglect,” he stated.
    The Legal Officer Advocate Mohammad Ali highlighted the need for ensuring a safe and secure environment for children. “Children are vulnerable and require special care and protection. It is our collective responsibility to ensure their well-being and safety,” he stated.
    The inspection is part of the CWC’s ongoing efforts to monitor and regulate Winter Residential Coaching Hostels in the district. The Committee will continue to conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
