Condolence meeting held to condole demise of Akhone Muhammad Yusuf; Ali Akbar Shadaab.
Kargil, March 30, 2026: A condolence meeting was held today at the Language Center New Academy Complex Kargil to condole the sad and untimely demise of eminent author & Editor, Voice of Ladakh Akhone Muhammad Yusuf and noted Purgi poet Ali Akbar Shadaab.
During the condolence meeting, staff members of Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Kargil besides members of the literary associations and poets & writers expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of the writers.
The speakers paid rich tributes to the deceased souls and said that their demise is a great loss to the field of language and literature in Kargil District in particular and the UT of Ladakh in general.
Recalling the literary contributions of late Akhone Muhammad Yusuf and Ali Akbar Shadaab, the speakers stated that the deceased scholars have contributed notable services towards for the promotion and preservation of languages and literature and their contributions will be remembered in all times to come.
The participants present in the condolence meet expressed their deep felt sympathies with the bereaved families in this hour of grief and prayed for peace to the departed souls.
A Fatiha was also offered for the departed souls on the occasion.
