Leh, June 03, 2025: A delegation led by Councillor, GM Pore, Syed Ali, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at Raj Niwas. Principal Secretary, Sanjeev Khirwar, IAS; Secretary, School Education, Bhanu Prabha, IAS and Director, Health Services, Dr Tashi Thinlas, were present in the meeting.
Councillor GM Pore apprised the HLG of the issues faced by the residents of his constituency, particularly the female counterparts, due to the vacant post of doctors at the Child Care Hospital in GM Pore. He requested the posting of doctors, including a gynaecologist, to resolve the issue. He also requested the HLG’s intervention in sending a replacement for the Medical Officer, who is currently on leave, for the treatment of patients at the hospital.
Councillor GM Pore further apprised the HLG of the need for the restoration of the irrigation canal in the TSG block to ensure uninterrupted water for irrigation purposes. He also highlighted the need to improve the education infrastructure by extending the existing government school at GM Pore. The issue of the slow progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in TSG was also raised in the meeting.
The HLG asked the Director, Health Services, to depute a gynaecologist to the CCH Centre twice a week to provide some relief to patients. He also asked him to send a replacement for the Medical Officer, currently on leave, at the earliest. He further directed the concerned department secretary to look into the issue of the irrigational canal at the TSG block.
