    Councillor Nyoma-led delegation comprising KGBV non-teaching staff and Class IV employees working in Education Department call on Hon’ble Lt Governor, Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).

    Leh, Jan 01, 2024: Councillor Nyoma, Shri Ishey Spalzang-led delegation comprising non-teaching staff of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) Nyoma, Nubra and Tangtse block called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS and Director School Education (SED), Ladakh, Shri Tsering Paldan, JKAS were present in the meeting.
    Shri Spalzang apprised the HLG of several demands, including the regularisation of the non-teaching staff at KGBV Nyoma, Tangtse and Nubra, filling up vacant positions at medical centres, the inclusion of various villages under the Vibrant Village Programme and organising a cultural exchange programme. Director, SED, Ladakh Shri Paldan informed the HLG that the KGBV staff have been outsourced under Samagra Shiksha.
    The HLG directed the concerned departmental officials to look into the matter for possible solutions.
    A delegation comprising Class IV staff working in the Education Department led by Smt Rinchen Angmo called on the HLG at LG Secretariat. Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS; Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shri Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS and Director, SED, Ladakh, Shri Tsering Paldan, JKAS were present in the meeting.
    Smt Angmo informed the HLG that they have been working at the Education Department, Leh as Class IV employees for the last three years. They informed about the consideration of the promotion of Class IV employees to the post of laboratory assistant by the Education Department as a result of the order passed by the J&K High Court in 2019 according to which Class IV employees who have passed Class 10 would be promoted to the post of laboratory assistant. She also informed about the new order passed in 2021 according to which only those Class IV employees who have passed Class 12 and have Science as the subject would be considered for the post of laboratory assistant. Smt Rinchen requested that the HLG to consider 10+2 with Science as the eligible criteria for the promotion of Class IV employees to the post of laboratory assistant.
    Since the matter has been decided by the Hon’ble High Court of J&K and Ladakh, the HLG asked the delegates to seek legal advice and also meet CEC/Chairman, LAHDC Leh in this regard.
