Crisil Foundation, empaneled by Reserve Bank of India (RBI), NABARD & State Bank of India (SBI) to implement the Moneywise Centre For Financial Literacy Project – CFL in the UT of Ladakh, conducted weeklong awareness camps on financial literacy and inclusion in collaboration with the Ladakh Rural Livelihood Misson – LRLM in Diskit, Panamik and Turtuk blocks of Nubra.
Series of awareness camps were conducted in rural areas to reachout to the communities with least access to financial institutions and knowledge regarding the flagship programs implemented by several government departments.
During awareness camps the participants were informed regarding the social security schemes, basic concepts of banking system, budgeting ,digital payment system, prevention of cyber frauds,self employment schemes, PMEGP, NRLM , KCC, MUDRA loans,Micro and banking ombudsman.
The CFL staff during awareness camps discussed in detail the significance of financial literacy among SHGs and initiatives undertaken by LRLM to strengthen UTs financial structure in promoting credit linkages and ensuring that financial inclusion reaches all segments of society.
Regional Managers of CFL project, Crisil foundation emphasized on the growing importance of financial literacy, particularly in the context of the rising threats of cybercrime, and underscored the need for individuals to be financially literate to protect themselves in today’s complex financial landscape.
The awareness camps were coordinated by CFL Diskit in collaboration with LRLM officials.
DPM LRLM Leh, Ms Asiya Tabasum made coordinated efforts with BPM Diskit, Ms Shahida Bano, MIS Ms Zomskit and RDD officials to ensure mobilisation in rural areas of nubra to conduct FL& FI camps.
