Day 2 of Multi-Speciality MMU Camp Conducted at Youlchung and Nyraks Villages.

Khaltse, June 26, 2025: The Block Medical Officer (BMO) Khaltse, Dr. Shamim Ahmad, successfully conducted the second day of the Multi-Speciality Medical Mobile Unit (MMU) camp at Youlchung and Nyraks villages in Singaylalok block on June 25, 2025.
The camp offered a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including general consultations, gynecological and pediatric care, dental and ophthalmic services, non-communicable disease (NCD) counseling, laboratory testing, Adolescent-Friendly Health Clinic (AFHC) counseling, physiotherapy, RBSK Screening and CBNAAT testing.
A total of 137 patients availed services during the camp:
40 Medical OPD patients,
28 Dental OPD patients,
27 Gynecology OPD patients,
42 Pediatric patients,
66 Ophthalmic OPD patients,
07 AFHC Counseling sessions,
128 NCD screenings,
16 Physiotherapy sessions,
38 RBSK screenings and
18 CBNAAT tests conducted.
Additionally, 124 laboratory tests were performed.
A yoga session was also organized at both Youlchung and Nyraks villages, with 44 participants actively taking part, promoting holistic health and wellness.
The camp was effectively carried out with the support of a dedicated team of medical professionals, including:
Dr. Spalchen Gonbo – Pediatrician,
Dr. Shamima Haque – Gynecologist,
Dr. Stanzin Yangdol – Physician,
Dr. Shaista Iqbal – Dental Surgeon,
along with the concerned paramedical staff.
This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts by the Health Department to deliver accessible and quality healthcare services to remote areas of Ladakh.
