DC-Drass inspects dilapidated Middle School Building of Khaiber locality in Shimsha Village.
Drass, July 14, 2026: Deputy Commissioner, Drass, Imteeaz Kacho today visited Khaiber locality of Shimsha Revenue Village to take stock of the condition of the dilapidated Middle School building. He was accompanied by Zonal Education Officer, Mohammad Ibrahim.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected each and every room of the School Building and noted that some rooms were not safe for classroom activity. He observed the need for a boundary wall for the safety of children. He also suggested the residents that the school should be in the middle of the locality and not at the existing location/site as the school is placed an elevated location and not suitable for children to walk.
The Headmaster of the School briefed him about the situation and highlighted the need for future infrastructural requirements. The Zonal Education Officer informed about the steps taken so far for keeping the school functioning despite the lack of adequate classrooms.
The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the Village Education Committee members, Lamberdar and residents of the locality about various other crucial issues like mobile phone connectivity, Anganwari Centre, A ration store as well as need the for a health centre and better roads. He assured them of all possible help from the District Administration.
The ladies of the area opined that they have not been able to mark their MGNREGA attendance online owing to the poor internet connectivity. The Deputy Commissioner assured that he would discuss the matter with the Block Development Officer.
