DC Drass Reviews Muharram Arrangements in Drass District.
Drass, June 18, 2026: Deputy Commissioner, District Drass, Imteeaz Kacho (JKAS), today chaired a meeting in his office chamber to review and finalize arrangements for the observance of Muharram in the District.
The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police, Drass, Ishtyaq Kacho (JKPS); Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Drass, Vishal Atri (JKAS); Block Medical Officer, Dr. Sajjad Hussain; Block Development Officer, Drass/Bhimbat, Shahid Sultan; Tehsil Supply Officers; Junior Engineers of R&B and PHE and heads of all religious organizations of Drass.
During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held regarding arrangements to ensure the smooth, peaceful and dignified observance of Muharram. Discussions focused on ensuring adequate drinking water supply, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation and cleanliness, healthcare preparedness, availability of essential commodities, traffic regulation and maintenance of law and order. Timings of gatherings and processions were also discussed threadbare.
The religious heads apprised the Deputy Commissioner about various requirements and concerns. The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the issues raised and assured that all necessary measures would be taken well in advance. He directed the concerned Departments to maintain close coordination and remain fully prepared to facilitate the gatherings and processions.
Superintendent of Police, Ishtyaq Kacho, emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, communal harmony and effective coordination among all stakeholders during the month of Muharram. He assured full support from the District Police to ensure that Muharram is observed in a peaceful, secure and orderly manner.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the commitment of the District Administration of Drass towards extending all possible support for ensuring peaceful and hassle-free observance of Muharram gatherings and processions across the District.
