DC Drass visits Yulboo to inspect JJM water supply scheme, Interacts with villagers.
Drass, May 18, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Drass, Imteeaz Kacho (JKAS) and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Drass, Vishal Atri, (JKAS) today visited Yulboo village to assess functionality of the ongoing drinking water facilities provided under JJM. They were accompanied by the Assistant Executive Engineer and Junior Engineer of Public Health Engineering Department.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the villagers and listened to their grievances regarding the shortage of potable water in the area. The village’s Numberdar and other local residents were also present on the occasion and highlighted the difficulties faced by the people due to inadequate drinking water supply. The Deputy Commissioner took stock of the situation and took feedback from the PHE officials.
Instructions were passed for repairing the non-functional pumps and for utilizing the available resources wisely. The villagers were advised to adopt sustainable methods for conserving water. He stated that the administration is committed to resolving the issue on priority and directed the concerned officials to take immediate necessary measures for restoration and improvement of water supply facilities in the village.
The Deputy Commissioner’s intervention was also sought for flood protection measures in the village. He assured the residents that the matter will be taken up with the Irrigation & Flood Protection Department.
The officers later visited the Middle School of the village and interacted with the staff. They also inspected the submersible pump in the school’s complex and ensured that it will be made functional soon.
The residents of Yulboo appreciated the visit of the Deputy Commissioner and expressed hope for early resolution of their grievances.
