    DC Kargil attends Shaheed Mohd Raza Memorial Volleyball League Inaugural Ceremony

    Kargil, August 16: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar (IAS) today attended the inaugural ceremony of the Shaheed Mohd Raza Memorial Volleyball League organised by Ladakh Volleyball Academy in collaboration with Skarchen Volleyball club Kargil.
    The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, Councillor Taisuru & Chief Organiser Abdul Hadi, DYSSO Kargil Abid Ali, and family members of Shaheed Mohd Raza wife Fiza Banoo and son Hassan Raza and hundreds of volleyball enthusiasts.
    In his welcome address, Chief Organiser, Skarchan Sports Club, Abdul Hadi expressed gratitude to the DC and ADC Kargil for attending the event and for their encouragement and support towards promoting sports culture among youth.
    Addressing the gathering, ADC Kargil highlighted the importance of maintaining brotherhood and professionalism through sports, honouring the bravery of Shaheed Mohd Raza. He urged youngsters to adopt a holistic outlook, excel in emerging fields such as science and artificial intelligence and stay away from drug abuse. He expressed hope that Kargil’s volleyball players would shine at UT and National levels.
    In his remarks, DC Kargil said that organising the league in memory of Shaheed Mohd Raza symbolises carrying forward his legacy of courage through the spirit of sportsmanship. He thanked sponsors and the media fraternity for their constant support and stressed that true sportsmanship reflects in maintaining good behaviour even in defeat.
    He assured that the District Administration will take up the development of the volleyball ground immediately after the conclusion of the tournament and assured to provide arrangements for night play. He said that UT Ladakh Administration accords top priority to education, health, and sports sectors and support for the holistic development of youth and to excel in every corner.
    The inaugural match was played between HKC Hardass and Friends Pashkum, where Friends Pashkum emerged victorious by 2–1. Mementos were distributed among participating teams.
