DC Kargil Conducts On-Site Visit to Power Infrastructure Projects; Issues Directives for Timely Completion and Fault Redressal

Kargil, July 22, 2025: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, IAS, today conducted inspection of power infrastructure in Zanskar, including the Haftal Power House, Raru Electrical Station, and Takkar 11 KV line.
During the visit to Haftal Power House, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of canal-related works. He directed the Chief Project Engineer to ensure completion of the canal construction by the end of August, emphasizing the need for timely execution to enhance the plant’s operational efficiency.
At Raru Electrical Station the DC took stock of the persistent line fault issues. He instructed the concerned officials to explore feasible solutions, including cable replacement or laying a parallel line to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to the region.
While inspecting the 11 KV line at Takkar, the Deputy Commissioner issued directions to the BRO and concerned departments. He emphasized that blasting work should only be undertaken after consulting the Junior Engineer (JE) and technical staff, and that immediate restoration of the power line must follow the blasting activity to minimize disruptions to public services.
He also interacted with the villagers of Itcher, listened to their grievances and assured to redress as early possible.
