DC Kargil Inaugurates 3-Day Mobile Passport Van Service.
Kargil, June 16, 2025: Deputy Commissioner/ CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse today inaugurated a three-day Mobile Passport Van service in Kargil aimed to serve applicants from Kargil district at their home town.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kargil, Shri Ram R, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, Regional Passport Officer (RPO) Srinagar, BS Rawat, Headquarter Assistant to DC, Kargil, Kaneez Fatima, Chairman Hajj Committee, UT Ladakh, Mohd Ali Majaz, Member Hajj Committee, UT Ladakh, Mohd Ali Chandan, and other officials from the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) were present during the event.
Speaking to media persons, the Deputy Commissioner stated that the Kargil administration is committed to bring essential services closer to the people. “This mobile passport van is a great initiative to ensure residents no longer have to travel to Leh or Srinagar for passport services. This three-day campaign is a trial run, and we have requested the RPO to conduct such camps every month,” stated the DC. He further added that the district administration is actively pursuing the establishment of a full-fledged Passport Kendra in Kargil, and discussions in this regard are ongoing with the RPO Srinagar.
RPO Srinagar, BS Rawat, also said that the mobile passport van is part of the Ministry of External Affairs’ doorstep service initiative. “We are committed to expanding our outreach and bringing passport services to the remotest corners of the region. More such initiatives will be taken up in the future,” he assured.
Chairman, Hajj Committee Ladakh, Mohd Ali Majaz, expressed gratitude to the district Administration Kargil and RPO Srinagar for launching the mobile van campaign in Kargil. He urged for such facilities to be extended to sub-divisional levels in future editions, to ensure maximum benefit for the people.
