DC Kargil reviews arrangements for 4th LG Horse Polo Cup at Drass.
Kargil, Sept 30, 2024: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to discuss arrangements related to conduct of 4th LG Horse Polo Cup organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh in collaboration with Polo Promotion Committee, Drass at Goshan Drass.
Additional Superintendent of Police Kargil, Mujeeb Ur Rahman Butt; Principal GDC Drass, Dr Amjad Ali Abassi; CMO Kargil, Dr Kacho Liyaqat Ali Khan; District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Kargil, Dr Niyaz ul Hassnain; Executive Engineer, PDD Kargil, Feroz Ahmad; AD Tourism Rehmatullah Bhat; EO MC Kargil, Raziya Khatoon; AD Information Kargil, Raza Ali Abidi; Tehsildar Drass, Asgar Ali and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
It was announced that 14 men’s teams and 2 women’s teams from across the Union Territory of Ladakh are participating in the tournament.
Threadbare discussion was held on various aspects of the arrangements related to the successful conduct of the 4th LG Horse Polo Cup besides various decisions were taken in the meeting and responsibilities were allotted to different departments.
DC Shrikant directed the concerned departments to make arrangements including security, uninterrupted power and water supply and power back up, medical facilities, publicity, boarding and lodging of polo players, cleanliness and other necessary arrangements.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the officers concerned to ensure adequate measures are taken for smooth conduct of the polo tournament.
He impressed upon all concerned departments to ensure that all arrangements are put in place well in time to ensure smooth and hassle free conduct of the tournament.
