DC Kargil reviews attendance of staff in health institutions, discusses other issues.
Kargil, February 24, 2026: The Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, today took a comprehensive meeting of the Health Department of Kargil in his office, highlighting the need for punctuality of staff in the District Hospital, Block Medical Offices as well as in all Health Centres across the District.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Imteeaz Kacho; District Social Welfare Officer, Sameena Khatoon; Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Dr. Mohammad Abbas; Block Medical Officer, Kargil, Dr.Jaleel Ahmad; Nodal Officer, Tobbaco Control and Mental Health, Dr. Fatima Nissa and ENT Specialist Dr. Oliyath Ali. Various other Block Medical Officers joined the meeting virtually.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Block Medical Officers to visit the health centres under their jurisdiction regularly. He directed that strict action be taken in case of any absence and dereliction of duties in order to ensure that public service delivery does not get hampered at any cost.
Further, the Deputy Commissioner informed that face-authentication based Aadhaar-enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) is going to be introduced at all work places soon, with health institutions on priority. He stressed on the effective implementation of the mechanism of e-hospital. He also spoke at length about the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission initiative and discussed ways and means to improve it.
The Deputy Commissioner also discussed infrastructural requirements in the District Hospital and other health institutions while also highlighting the need for gap identification vis-à-vis data collection. The need for cardiologists and gynaecologists in hospitals also came up for discussion.
