    DC Kargil reviews functioning of Kendriya Vidyalaya Trespone, Navodaya Vidyalaya Khumbuthang

    Kargil, September 30, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Imteeaz Kacho, visited PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Trespone and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Khumbuthang, Kargil, to review the infrastructure and facilities for students.
    At Kendriya Vidyalaya Trespone, the DC stressed the need to increase student accommodation and directed the principal to temporarily repurpose the sports room, work experience room, and scout room to manage the present requirement. He further proposed that the Public Works Department (PWD) prepare a DPR for construction of a new building, while the old government school building could be used as an interim arrangement.
    He also instructed the authorities to develop and improve the school ground for students and called upon the principal to actively involve students in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan activities as part of the curriculum, to instill in them a sense of responsibility and civic honour.
    At JNV Ladakh, DC Rakesh Kumar focused on the existing hostel facilities. He interacted with the principal and parents, emphasizing the need to expand hostel accommodation so that more students could benefit. The principal apprised him that additional funds were required to address the challenges posed by the region’s harsh climate, including the urgent need for electric water heaters. He also informed that a new hostel building would soon be handed over to the school authorities, which would significantly increase capacity.
    The Deputy Commissioner added that a BMC meeting would be convened shortly to consider other requirements, including hostel-level and quarter-level demands. Stressing on the importance of expanding sections and improving student facilities, Rakesh Kumar remarked that students are the future pillars of society, and their welfare remains the administration’s top priority.
