DC Kargil Reviews LPG Distribution, Pushes for Transparent and Timely Supply.
Kargil, March 25, 2026: The Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar chaired a meeting today with concerned officers and LPG distributors of the district in his office chamber to review and streamline the distribution of LPG across Kargil.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the existing LPG distribution mechanism, availability of supplies, and issues faced by consumers, particularly in remote and far-flung areas. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for ensuring timely and hassle-free supply of LPG to all consumers.
The Deputy Commissioner directed that e-KYC registration be implemented across all five subdivisions of the district to ensure transparency and accountability in LPG distribution. He emphasized that LPG cylinders should be provided strictly on OTP-based verification and booking system to minimize hoarding and ensure fair distribution.
He further instructed the concerned departments to organize special camps, particularly for commercial consumers, so that the registration process is completed within a stipulated timeframe.
Highlighting the challenges in far-flung areas, the Deputy Commissioner directed the departments to identify and designate specific locations with proper network connectivity, enabling consumers to book LPG cylinders through OTP-based systems. This, he noted, will ensure a hassle-free, transparent, and record-based supply mechanism even in remote regions.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed all concerned agencies to strengthen coordination, maintain adequate stock, and ensure that supply reaches every corner of the district without delay. He emphasized close monitoring of LPG agencies and prompt redressal of public grievances.
