    Kargil, January 31, 2026: Deputy Commissioner, Kargil today visited Kargil Airport to take stock of the necessary facilities and arrangements for the smooth operation of AN-32 Courier Services, scheduled to commence from 05 February.
    The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SSP Kargil, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Registrar Cooperatives Kargil, Chief Medical Officer Kargil, Executive Engineers of PDD, Mechanical and PWD departments, besides officers of the Indian Air Force and other concerned officials.
    During the visit, the DC inspected passenger facilities, security arrangements, and provisions made for civilians. He directed the Executive Engineer, PWD to install additional kerosene heaters and ensure the availability of steel water filters at the airport. The ADC Kargil was instructed to deploy sweepers as per requirement to maintain cleanliness.
    The Deputy Commissioner also inspected washrooms, heating systems, the VIP lodge, smoking area, and other essential facilities. He instructed the CMO Kargil to ensure the deployment of an ambulance along with wheelchairs, stretchers, and other medical necessities during AN-32 operations. Further, the Mechanical Department was directed to ensure early and timely snow clearance to facilitate uninterrupted services.
    The DC emphasized coordinated efforts among all departments to ensure hassle-free courier operations and passenger convenience during the winter months.
