DC Kargil reviews progress on tourism development initiatives in Namsuru.

Kargil, February 04, 2025: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse today visited Namsuru village to review the progress on development of tourism in the area.
It was informed that land stands earmarked in Namsuru for developing tourism-related facilities to enhance the region’s tourism sector. This initiative follows the Suru valleys recognition as one of National Geographic’s 25 best destinations worldwide.
Accordingly, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to expedite execution of approved projects in the area.
DC stressed on comprehensive skill development programs for local youths in the adventure tourism as well as other forms of tourism sector.
The DC was accompanied by Councillor, Parkachik, Executive Engineer, SVD Sankoo and Executive Engineer, Kargil Development Authority.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also met with public delegations who demanded to release the land compensation for the construction of Namsuru–Tangole road. The DC instructed the concerned officials to expedite the compensation process.
The DC further instructed to begin the construction of already approved building of Medical Sub-Centre at Namsuru at earliest.
