DC Leh Meets Nambardars of Kharu, Durbuk & Nyoma Sub-Divisions.
Leh, November 7, 2025:
District Commissioner, Leh, Romil Singh Donk (IAS), convened a meeting with the Nambardars of Kharu, Durbuk, and Nyoma Sub-Divisions at the DC Conference Hall, Leh.
The meeting was attended by Ghulam Mohd (JKAS), Additional District Commissioner (ADC) Leh; Shabir Hussain, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Leh; Tsewang Gyaltson, Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Leh; Rigzin Yangdol, Headquarter Assistant, Leh; and the Naib Tehsildar, Tangtse.
DC Leh extended a warm welcome to all the Nambardars and expressed appreciation for their participation.
Addressing the gathering, ACR Leh and CPO Leh briefed participants on the upcoming campaign “Mimangs-Si-sJabstogs”, an initiative aimed at addressing public grievances and ensuring the effective implementation of government schemes. They emphasized that the campaign will focus on resolving issues at the grassroots level and improving access to essential public services over the next 15 days.
Speaking at the meeting, ADC Leh highlighted that following the dissolution of the LAHDC, Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) have been directed to address public issues and grievances at their respective levels while serving as key communication channels between the administration and the public. He urged the Nambardars to maintain close coordination with SDMs to strengthen communication and ensure efficient governance. The upcoming Mimangs-Si-sJabstogs camps, he added, will provide on-the-spot solutions for issues related to Aadhaar, Golden Cards, and other administrative documents. Nambardars were also encouraged to contact higher authorities directly if their concerns remain unresolved at the camp or SDM level.
ADC Leh further suggested that the Nambardars prepare an action plan for both the upcoming campaign and the year ahead. Such planning, he noted, would streamline grievance redressal and help the administration ensure timely resolutions.
During the session, the Nambardars individually presented concerns from their respective villages, focusing primarily on challenges related to the Jal Jeevan Mission, road and telecommunication connectivity, as well as education and healthcare facilities.
Key issues highlighted included restricted access to pasturelands and developmental activities in zero-border villages, the rising number of stray dogs in the Changthang region; road repairs, the absence of headmasters in certain schools, and infrastructure damage to schools following recent rainfall.
DC Leh assured the participants that the administration would take prompt and effective measures to address these issues and ensure the welfare of all communities.
ADC Leh also appealed for the Nambardars’ active cooperation to ensure the success of the upcoming campaign and to help bridge service delivery gaps while addressing public needs. He further encouraged the Nambardars to make active use of MGNREGA and requested the CPO Leh to prioritize the repair and maintenance of school infrastructure.
