DC Nubra Chairs Meeting with Hotel Association Representatives on Tourism and Developmental Issues.
Nubra, May 8, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Nubra, Shri Mukul Beniwal, IAS, chaired a meeting with representatives and members of the Hotel Association to discuss various tourism and developmental issues concerning the district.
During the meeting, discussions were held on power supply, tourism infrastructure, transport and transshipment charges, waste segregation systems, base camp facilities, and fire safety arrangements. The members also highlighted the need for the effective functioning of tourism authorities and the Nubra Development Authority.
Addressing the issues raised during the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner assured that efforts would be made to improve electricity supply through the efficient functioning of hydel power projects. He also agreed to support the proposal for providing solar subsidy assistance to hotels and other establishments until proper grid connectivity is ensured.
Emphasizing sustainable and environmentally responsible development, the DC urged all stakeholders to cooperate with the administration and contribute constructive suggestions for the overall development of Nubra district.
The meeting was attended by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nubra, Sh. Jigmet Raftan JKAS, President and Executive Members of Ldumra Skoryangs Tsogspa Nubra, along with members of the Hotel Association.
