DC Nubra Convenes Meeting with Panchayat Secretaries of Nubra District to Review Functioning of Rural Development Department.
Nubra, 27 July 2026: Deputy Commissioner, Nubra, Shri Mukul Beniwal, IAS, today convened a review meeting with Block Development Officers and Panchayat Secretaries to assess the functioning of the Rural Development Department and the implementation of various developmental initiatives in Nubra district.
The DC highlighted the important role of Panchayat Secretaries as frontline functionaries responsible for the effective implementation of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes, including the NRLM, VB-G RAM G ,PMAY, PM-KISAN and other government schemes at the grassroots level. He emphasised the need for regular monitoring and timely implementation of these schemes to ensure that the intended benefits reach eligible beneficiaries.
The DC further directed Panchayat Secretaries to play an active role in maintaining cleanliness in their respective areas and ensuring compliance with the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026. He stressed the need to ensure strict adherence to the published schedule for Tsangda waste collection and directed all concerned to monitor its implementation regularly. He also emphasised the importance of conducting regular drug-related awareness programmes and intensifying awareness against the use of single-use plastic.
The DC directed Panchayat Secretaries to remain proactive in assessing and promptly reporting flood-related damages in their respective areas. He further emphasised the need for Panchayat Secretaries to remain available in their respective areas and directed all concerned to ensure strict compliance with the decisions taken and timely follow-up action.
The meeting was attended by SDM Nubra, Sh. Tashi Jorgais, BDO Nubra and Panchayat Secretaries of Nubra District.
