DC Sham Chairs Meeting Regarding Preparations for “Swachh Gaon Surakshit Jalvayu” Campaign.
Khaltse, May 30, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sham, Smt. Kunzes Angmo (JKAS), today chaired a meeting with concerned officers and officials of Sham District to review preparations for the “Swachh Gaon Surakshit Jalvayu” Campaign, which is scheduled to be conducted across various Panchayats of the district from June 1 to June 5, 2026, culminating on ‘World Environment Day’. The meeting was held at the Conference Hall of DC Sham, Khaltse.
The meeting was attended by Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) Mohd Sharif (Khaltse) and Gurmat Namgail (Liker), Assistant Executive Engineer, PHE, Tsering Samdup, Forest Range Officer Khaltse, Deskyong Namgail, Panchayat Inspectors, and all Panchayat Secretary of various Panchayats.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the programme schedule for the campaign and directed all concerned departments to ensure proper coordination and active participation for its successful implementation across the district. She emphasized the importance of cleanliness, environmental protection, waste management, plantation drives, conduct of Special Gram Sabha and public awareness activities at the Panchayat level.
The DC stressed that all Panchayats should organize awareness programmes on drug abuse, cleanliness drives, and community participation activities to promote sustainable environmental practices and ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for the public.
To enhance public engagement and create greater awareness, she also instructed officers and officials to establish selfie points at prominent locations in their respective areas.
