DC Sham Reviews Progress of Jal Jeevan Mission and Other PHE Schemes.
Khaltsi, 10 August 2026: Deputy Commissioner, Sham, Smt. Kunzes Angmo (JKAS), today chaired a review meeting in her office chamber to assess the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and other schemes being implemented by the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Engineer, PHE Sham, Phurbu Sandup; Executive Engineer, PHE Kargil Kousar Jabeen, Assistant Executive Engineers, Tsering Sandup; and Junior Engineers from Sham and Kargil. Officers from outstation locations also joined the meeting through video conferencing.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the status of ongoing water supply works and obtained detailed updates from the concerned officers regarding progress and implementation challenges. She directed the officers to expedite the execution of all ongoing works and ensure their timely completion.
Emphasizing the importance of providing safe and adequate drinking water to the public, Smt. Kunzes Angmo instructed the concerned officers to ensure effective implementation of all schemes, maintain close inter-departmental coordination, and conduct regular monitoring of works.
She further stressed that issues hindering the implementation of water supply projects must be addressed promptly to ensure that the intended benefits of the schemes reach the public at the earliest.
