Delegation led by Regional Head, Axis Bank, President Cycling Association call on Hon’ble Lt. Governor Brig (Dr) BD Misra (Retd).
Leh, August 09, 2023: A delegation of Axis Bank led by its Regional Head, Shri Lalit Chopra called on Hon’ble, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier BD Mishra (Retd) at Raj Niwas. Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS was also present in the meeting. Shri Chopra apprised the HLG about the banking service of Axis bank in Ladakh and briefed that three branches of the bank were established in Leh, Kargil and Khaltsi and informed that the bank will open more branches in Ladakh. He informed the HLG that the bank has adopted 100 schools in Ladakh where the experts and resource person of the bank taught the kids and trained the teachers under CSR initiative. Shri Chopra further informed that the bank sponsored the library and digital labs through 17000 ft foundation in five schools in Ladakh. He informed that the bank is providing their service to Aadhaar enrolment and providing quality banking in the region. The HLG appreciated their service to the people of Ladakh and suggested Shri Chopra to give the proposal for adoption of more schools to Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS. The HLG suggested Shri Chopra to impart training on quality banking and skill development to the people of the region.
A delegation of Cycling Association of Ladakh led by its President, Shri Rinchen Angdu called on HLG at Raj Niwas. Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS was also present in the meeting. Shri Angdu apprised the HLG about the cycling issues of Ladakh and requested exclusion of Ladakh Police from authority to organise cycling events for the promotion of cycling in Ladakh. He informed the HLG that Ladakh Police is organising events in which they are preferring cyclists from outside rather than local cycling of Ladakh. Shri Angdu requested the HLG to form a cycling association in the name of “Cycling Association of Ladakh ” for the recognition of cycling in the region. The HLG assured Shri Angdu to inquire into the issue with ADGP, Ladakh.
Shri Reyaz Ahmed, a resident of Horzay, Leh called on the HLG at Raj Niwas and apprised about his father, Late Munshi Abdul Sattar, who was the only freedom fighter from Ladakh region. He informed the HLG that he participated in the Indian freedom struggle from the year 1929 to 1945 along with all the freedom fighters of India. Shri Reyaz requested the HLG to recognise his father’s contribution and name an important place on his name. The HLG assured Shri Riyaz Ahmed to study the case with the experts and directed Commissioner Secretary, Tourism Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan, IRS to discuss with the HLG in the case.
