Delegation of Physical Education Teachers call on Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).
Leh, 29 January, 2025: A delegation of Physical Education Teachers from Kargil District called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat today. The delegation sought the HLG’s intervention in addressing their long-pending transfer cases.
Advisor to the HLG Dr. Pawan Kotwal, IAS; OSD to the Secretary Youth Service & Sports Dr. Stanzin Thakchos and Physical Education Teachers from Kargil District were present during the meeting.
The delegation apprised the HLG that they are serving as physical education teachers under the Department of Youth, Service, and Sports. They conveyed that their transfer requests have been pending for over nine years, resulting in them being stationed at the same location for an extended period. The HLG acknowledged their concerns and directed the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kargil to examine the cases in detail.
The HLG further instructed the delegation to submit a formal written representation detailing their grievances. He assured them that appropriate action would be taken following a thorough review of the submitted documentation.
