DC Sham Chairs Meeting of District Highway Safety Task Force.
Khaltse, June 06, 2026: Deputy Commissioner/District Magistrate Sham, Smt. Kunzes Angmo (JKAS), chaired a meeting of the District Highway Safety Task Force with members of the constituted committee in her office Chamber today to review highway safety measures and strengthen preparedness across Sham District.
During the meeting, various issues related to road safety, public safety, disaster preparedness, emergency response mechanisms, identification of black spots, development of dedicated parking areas, and inter-departmental coordination were discussed in detail. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of maintaining strict safety protocols and ensuring timely action to mitigate potential risks.
Officers from the concerned departments presented updates on ongoing safety initiatives and highlighted measures being undertaken to enhance public awareness and emergency preparedness. The meeting also reviewed the status of safety infrastructure and the availability of essential resources required during emergencies.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to work in close coordination and remain vigilant to ensure the safety and well-being of the public. She emphasized the importance of regular inspections, awareness programmes, and prompt response to safety-related concerns. The Deputy Commissioner also informed that joint field visits would be conducted across the district to assess safety measures and ensure effective implementation of the directives.
