    Police, Civil Administration Hold Public Outreach Programme in Sham District.
    Khaltse, May 11, 2026: The newly established District Sham organized a joint public outreach programme involving the Police and Civil Administration to strengthen community relations and address public concerns at the grassroots level.
    During the interaction, officials engaged directly with representatives of various organizations, including LBA, political parties, Women Alliance, LAS, religious groups, and village Lambardars. Discussions focused on issues related to law and order, civic amenities, and developmental needs of the region.
    Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Sham, Smt. Kunzes Angmo, (JKAS) assured the public that extensive tours of all villages in the district would be conducted to ensure that development initiatives effectively reach every corner of the region.
    Later in, Senior Superintendent of Police, Aijaz Malik, (JKPS) highlighted the department’s commitment towards a “people-friendly” policing system and emphasized round-the-clock availability for public safety. He also assured the gathering that he would personally visit villages across the district to better understand local issues and strengthen police-public relations.
    The Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Khaltse briefed the gathering on various ongoing developmental works in the subdivision.
    SHO Police Station Khaltsi also spoke on issues related to crime prevention, with particular emphasis on curbing drug abuse in the area.
    Local leaders expressed gratitude to the UT Administration, especially the DGP, Chief Secretary, and the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, for the creation of Sham District, describing it as a significant step towards greater administrative accessibility and regional development.
    The officers assured the public that all grievances and concerns raised during the Darbar would be addressed in a timely manner, reiterating that public cooperation remains essential for maintaining peace, harmony, and progress in the region.
