OSR Two-Day Training Programme Successfully Concludes at Khaltse.
Khaltse, August 21, 2026: A district-level two-day training programme on Own Source Revenue (OSR) under the Revamped Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA), which commenced on August 20, 2026, concluded successfully today at the Conference Hall of the Block Development Office, Khaltse, District Sham.
The training programme was organized by the District Panchayat Office, Leh, with the objective of strengthening the knowledge and capacity of field-level officials and Panchayati Raj functionaries for effective, participatory and need-based planning and implementation of OSR initiatives.
The programme witnessed the participation of officials from various departments and Panchayati Raj Institutions, including Development Officers, Panchayat Inspectors, Panchayat Account Assistants, Panchayat Secretaries, line department officials and Gram Rozgar Sevaks. Block Development Officers, Sh. Manzoor Hussain (Saspol) and Dr. Zakir Hussain (Khaltse), along with Master Trainer Sh. Mustaq Ahmad Mir, were also present during the training programme.
Master Trainer Sh. Mustaq Ahmad Mir delivered a detailed presentation on OSR, covering its objectives, planning process and key components. He highlighted the importance of strengthening the revenue-generating capacity of Panchayati Raj Institutions and encouraged participants to identify locally available resources and opportunities for generating sustainable own-source revenue.
The training also included detailed discussions and interactive sessions on various aspects of OSR, with emphasis on participatory planning, resource mobilization, convergence of available resources, effective utilization of funds and addressing the developmental needs of local communities.
The programme concluded successfully with active participation and interaction among the participants. The training reinforced the importance of strengthening grassroots institutions, promoting financial sustainability and adopting coordinated and community-oriented approaches for effective rural development in the district.
