DC Sham Chairs Review Meeting on NRLM in District Sham.
Khaltse, August 19, 2026: Deputy Commissioner, Sham, Smt. Kunzes Angmo (JKAS), today chaired a review meeting with the Block Programme Managers of Khaltse, Skurbuchan and Saspol regarding the implementation of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) under the Rural Development Department in District Sham.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of NRLM, including the increase in the number of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and the distribution and utilisation of funds aimed at enhancing livelihood opportunities for rural communities.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need to strengthen the packaging and labelling of SHG products to improve their quality, presentation and marketability. She also stressed the importance of establishing effective market linkages to ensure better marketing and wider reach of products prepared by SHGs.
DC Sham directed the concerned Block Programme Managers to focus on improving packaging and labelling standards of SHG products and to explore sustainable market linkages for better livelihood opportunities and income generation for SHG members.
The meeting was attended by the Block Programme Managers Stanzin Khando (Khaltse); Deachen Angmo (Skurbuchan) and Mutup Angmo (Saspol).
