PHC Nyoma Conducts Awareness Activities under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
Nyoma, August 19, 2026: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Primary Health Centre (PHC) Nyoma conducted a series of awareness and preventive activities aimed at sensitising the public, particularly youth and vulnerable groups, about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promoting a drug-free society.
The activities included health awareness sessions on the harmful effects of tobacco, alcohol and drugs, along with a Nukkad Natak highlighting the consequences of drug addiction and the importance of recovery and rehabilitation.
Substance abuse screening was also carried out during OPD visits, while individuals identified with substance-use concerns were provided counselling and motivation to quit substance use, with emphasis on family support and involvement in the recovery process.
Awareness activities were further conducted among young and vulnerable youth around the Nyoma market, focusing on the health, social and psychological consequences of substance abuse. Pledge-taking ceremonies were also organised to encourage community commitment towards a substance-free society.
As part of the campaign, awareness rallies were conducted to spread the message of Nasha Mukt Bharat and encourage collective participation in preventing substance abuse.
Through these initiatives, PHC Nyoma reiterated its commitment to strengthening awareness, early identification, counselling and community participation in the fight against substance abuse and building a healthier and drug-free Changthang.
