Deputy Commissioner Changthang Visits Solid Waste Management Plant at Nyoma.
Nyoma, June 2026: Deputy Commissioner, Changthang, Shri Nitish Rajora, IAS, today visited the Solid Waste Management (SWM) Plant at Nyoma to review the functioning of the facility and assess the ongoing waste management measures in the region.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected various sections of the plant and took stock of the waste collection, segregation, processing, and disposal mechanisms in place. He interacted with the concerned officials and staff, emphasizing the importance of effective solid waste management in preserving the fragile environment of the Changthang region.
The visit reflects the District Administration’s commitment towards sustainable environmental management and implementation of the Solid Waste Management Rules across Changthang District. Efforts are being made to improve waste management systems and promote community participation in keeping the region clean and environmentally sustainable.
The District Administration reiterated its resolve to continue strengthening waste management initiatives and creating greater awareness among residents and visitors alike for a cleaner and greener Changthang.
