Deputy Commissioner Drass Reviews Census 2027 Phase-II Self-Enumeration Work.
Drass, August 18, 2026: The Deputy Commissioner, Drass, today held a meeting with senior Census officials to review the ongoing Phase-II of Census 2027, particularly the Self-Enumeration (SE) process being carried out in the District.
Amit Bhargav, Deputy Director; Vijay Kumar, Assistant Director, and Sadique Hussain, District Census Coordinator, Drass were present during the meeting. They briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the progress of the Phase-II Self-Enumeration work and the activities being undertaken to ensure its smooth implementation.
The discussions focussed on the progress of self-enumeration, public participation, awareness among citizens and the importance of ensuring accurate and timely completion of the Census exercise. The officials also discussed field-level coordination and measures required to further strengthen the ongoing work.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the Census officials and field staff and emphasized the need for close coordination, accuracy and timely completion of all Census-related activities under Phase-II. He lauded the efforts of Charge Officer Vishal Atri for effective and meticulous supervision of the Census operations.
The meeting reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to ensuring a smooth, transparent and efficient Census 2027 Phase-II Self-Enumeration process in Drass.
Earlier during the day, the Deputy Commissioner successfully completed his own self enumeration formalities. He then urged all citizens to actively participate in the self-enumeration exercise within the stipulated time. He emphasized that public participation is essential for ensuring accurate and comprehensive population data for effective planning and development.
