    Leh, Nov 10, 2023: Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, convened a meeting today to review the financial and physical progress for the month ending October 2023 under the District Capex Budget at the DC conference hall.
    In a comprehensive session held in the morning, DC Leh meticulously assessed the advancements in various sectors, including Transport & Communication, Non-Functional Buildings, PHE (Public Health Engineering), Minor Irrigation, Flood Control, Medium Irrigation, Rural Development Department, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Horticulture, Fisheries, Command Area Development, Health, School Education, Higher Education, Power, Forests, Parks, and Gardens.
    During the meeting, DC Leh sought detailed departmental and block-wise updates on the financial and physical status of ongoing or newly initiated projects funded through the District Capex Budget.
    DC Leh emphasized the importance of expediting the process by instructing the Heads of Departments (HODs) to promptly apply for tenders and complete the Detailed Project Reports (DPR) within two months. He urged them to commence work as per the proposed budget allocation.
    Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner directed all HODs to ensure that pending projects are completed on time, setting a goal to have 50% of the work finished by the end of the current month and 70% by the end of the following month.
    In the post lunch session, DC Leh reviewed Youth Service and Sports, Local Bodies, CA&PDS, Wildlife, DIC, Handloom , Tourism, ITI, Social Welfare, Evaluations and Statistics, District Motor Garages, ICDS, Soil Conservations, Govt. Polytechnic College, CCDF, Information Technology , LREDA, Information, Mechanical Division, Cooperatives, Labour Welfare, Antiquities, District Library, Culture Academy and Internal Audit Office
    DC Leh directed all the concerned Heads of Departments (HODs) to expedite the clearance of pending expenditure and to intensify efforts in creating awareness and saturation of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes, with a special focus on vibrant villages and aspiration blocks during the upcoming Viksit Bharat Yatra.
    Additionally, he emphasized the need for efficient allocation and utilization of funds to maximize the benefits of government schemes.
    Also, he stressed that the timely fulfillment of pending expenditures is crucial to ensure the successful implementation of these schemes.
    Furthermore, he called upon HODs to take personal responsibility in creating awareness about various schemes and ensuring saturation in vibrant villages.
    Setting a deadline, DC Leh directed all concerned HODs to achieve saturation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) within two months, particularly in the vibrant villages and aspiration blocks.
