Deputy Commissioner Sham Reviews Implementation of Rural Development Schemes and Functioning of SRMCs.
Khaltsi, 30 July 2026:
The Deputy Commissioner, Sham, Smt. Kunzes Angmo (JKAS), today chaired a review meeting in the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Khaltsi, to review the implementation of various Rural Development Department (RDD) schemes and the functioning of the Solid Resource Management Centres (SRMCs) across the district.
During the meeting, the Block Development Officers of Khaltsi and Saspol delivered detailed PowerPoint presentations on the progress of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS), flagship programmes, and other developmental initiatives being implemented in their respective blocks. The presentations highlighted the physical and financial progress of ongoing works, key achievements, and issues requiring attention.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the implementation status of the schemes and emphasised the need for timely execution, effective monitoring, transparency, and optimum utilisation of government resources. She directed all concerned officers to ensure that developmental programmes are implemented efficiently and that the benefits of government schemes reach the intended beneficiaries without delay.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the Block Development Officers and other concerned officials to conduct regular cleanliness drives across villages and public places. She stressed the need for strict enforcement of the ban on Single-Use Plastic (SUP) and instructed officials to undertake regular inspections to prevent the use of banned plastic items and curb littering. She further directed the concerned departments to intensify public awareness campaigns on waste segregation and scientific disposal of waste, while ensuring the effective functioning of Solid Resource Management Centres (SRMCs) to promote a cleaner, healthier, and environmentally sustainable district.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Zakir Hussain, Block Development Officer, Khaltsi; Manzoor Hussain, Block Development Officer, Saspol; Panchayat Inspectors; Panchayat Secretaries of Sham District; Supervisors of SRMCs; Junior Engineer, LAREDA; and other concerned officials.
