    The Deputy Commissioner, Sham, Smt. Kunzes Angmo (JKAS), undertook an extensive tour of Wanla, Fanjila, Hinju, Ursi, and Hanupata villages in Sham District. She was accompanied by the BMO Khaltsi, BDO Khaltsi, AEE Khaltsi, ZEO Khaltsi, and CDPO Khaltsi.
    During her visit to Wanla, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with residents of Wanla-A and Wanla-B, as well as teachers and students of Government High School, Wanla. She urged the public and students to strictly comply with the directives issued by the UT Administration regarding the prohibition of Single-Use Plastic (SUP) and littering across the Union Territory of Ladakh. Highlighting the importance of environmental conservation, she called for vigilant monitoring of the use and sale of banned SUP items and emphasized the need for strict adherence to the prescribed regulations. She also informed the public about the penalty for violations.
    The visit was part of the UT Administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the implementation of environmental regulations and promote a cleaner, greener, and plastic-free Ladakh.
    The Nambardar of Wanla submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner. She also inspected the under-construction school building and staff quarters, the Medical Aid Centre (MAC) Wanla, and SRMC Wanla.
    At Fanjila, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the Anganwadi Centre and recommended the conduct of an enrolment drive to enhance participation. She also interacted with local residents and sensitized them about the ban on single-use plastic.
    During her visit to Hinju, she held discussions with villagers, who highlighted concerns related to road infrastructure, the incomplete community hall, and the need for a Medical Sub-Centre.
    At Ursi, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with villagers at the Community Hall, where residents raised issues pertaining to road connectivity and the requirement for improved medical facilities.
    At Hanupata, she inspected the Middle School, Anganwadi Centre, and Medical Sub-Centre. She also met with villagers at the Community Hall and listened to their grievances, developmental concerns, and suggestions for improving local infrastructure and public services.
    While interacting with the villagers, the Deputy Commissioner assured them that the administration remains committed to addressing genuine public concerns in a timely and effective manner.
