Padum, June 04, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Zanskar, Shri Omkar Rajendra Gundage, IAS, today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of ongoing road construction and maintenance works under the Non-Plan Development (NPD) sector in the district.
The meeting was attended by Tehsildar Zanskar, Shri Mohd Hassan, Officer Commanding 114 RCC, Shri Preteek, Officer Commanding PAL-2, and other concerned officers.
During the meeting, a detailed review of the present status of road works was undertaken. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to expedite the pace of work and ensure strict adherence to project timelines. He directed all executing agencies to work in close coordination and remove any bottlenecks hindering progress.
Stressing the importance of improved road connectivity for the public, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the concerned agencies to ensure completion of the blacktopping works by the end of June 2026. He also urged officers to maintain quality standards while accelerating the execution of the projects.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from all stakeholders to work collectively towards the timely completion of the ongoing road infrastructure works across Zanskar.
