    Leh 9 September 2026: Mrs. Jigmat Speldon, Deputy Director, Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Leh Ladakh have attend a press conference at the Office Chambers today, 9 September 2026, to highlight the importance of mass participation of young people in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027.     The press conference will focus on creating widespread awareness among young citizens, educational institutions, youth organisations and the general public about VBYLD 2027 and encouraging maximum participation in the ongoing nationwide campaign.
    A National Platform for Young India
    The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2027, organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports through Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), is a major national initiative aimed at providing young Indians with a platform to contribute their ideas, perspectives and innovative solutions towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
    The initiative seeks to identify and nurture young leaders from across the country and provide them with opportunities to engage in discussions on India’s development priorities, innovation, entrepreneurship, culture, governance and nation-building. The programme is designed to create a grassroots-to-national pathway through which the ideas and aspirations of young citizens can reach policymakers and the national leadership.
    Opportunity for Youth to Present Ideas
    One of the key highlights of VBYLD 2027 is the opportunity for selected young participants to take their ideas to the national platform and, at the appropriate stage, present their vision before the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.
    The programme is intended to encourage young people, including those without a political background, to participate in public life and contribute constructively to India’s development journey. It places emphasis on leadership, innovation, creativity, problem-solving and active citizenship.
    Who Can Participate?
    Young Indians in the 15–29 years age group, as on 17 August 2026, are eligible to participate in the programme. Participation is designed to reach young people from different backgrounds and regions, including students, young professionals, entrepreneurs, innovators, artists and youth involved in community and social initiatives.
    Six Major Tracks
    VBYLD 2027 provides multiple avenues for young people to participate according to their interests and abilities. The major tracks include:
    1. Viksit Bharat Challenge
    The flagship track provides young participants with an opportunity to identify developmental challenges, develop innovative solutions and present their ideas for building a Viksit Bharat. The process includes the Viksit Bharat Quiz, Essay Challenge and subsequent District, State/UT and National-level stages.
    2. Cultural Track
    This track provides a platform for young talent in areas such as folk dance, folk music, painting, poetry, declamation and other cultural expressions, celebrating India’s rich cultural diversity.
    3. Design for Bharat
    The track encourages young minds to use design thinking and creativity to develop solutions and ideas relevant to India’s emerging needs and developmental priorities.
    4. Hack for Social Cause
    This initiative encourages young innovators and technology enthusiasts to develop practical, technology-driven solutions to social and community challenges.
    5. Youth Entrepreneurs Challenge
    The challenge provides a platform for young entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs to showcase innovative ideas, enterprise models and solutions that can contribute to employment generation and economic development.
    6. Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament
    The Youth Parliament track encourages young citizens to engage in policy discussions, debate and democratic processes while developing an understanding of governance and public policy.
    Five-Stage Journey Towards the National Dialogue
    For the Viksit Bharat Challenge, the participation journey begins with the online Viksit Bharat Quiz, followed by the Essay Challenge and successive District, State/UT and National-level stages.
    The important dates announced for the current cycle are:
    Viksit Bharat Quiz: 17 August – 30 September 2026
    Viksit Bharat Essay Challenge: October 2026
    District Championships: 10–16 November 2026
    State/UT VBYLD: 17 November – 7 December 2026
    National Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue: 10–12 January 2027, New Delhi
    The ongoing Viksit Bharat Quiz is therefore an important first step for eligible youth who wish to embark on the VBYLD 2027 journey. The Quiz is currently open on the MY Bharat platform, with 30 September 2026 as the last date for participation.
    Call for Mass Participation
    Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Jigmat Speldon, Deputy Director, MY Bharat, will emphasise the need for maximum participation of youth in VBYLD 2027. She will call upon schools, colleges, universities, youth clubs, NSS units, NYKS-associated youth, educational institutions and youth organisations to actively encourage eligible young people to participate.
    The initiative provides an important opportunity for the youth to move beyond being recipients of development and become active contributors to the nation’s development journey. Through their ideas, creativity, innovation and leadership, young citizens can play a significant role in shaping India’s roadmap towards Viksit Bharat @2047.
    The press conference will also highlight the importance of taking the VBYLD campaign to the grassroots so that young people from urban as well as rural and remote areas have an opportunity to participate and make their voices heard.
    Invitation to Youth
    MY Bharat appeals to all eligible young citizens to take advantage of this national platform and participate in the Viksit Bharat Quiz at the earliest. Young people with ideas for a stronger, more innovative, inclusive and developed India are encouraged to participate and take their first step towards the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2027.
    The programme is envisioned as a grassroots-to-national platform for youth leadership, giving young Indians an opportunity to share their ideas, interact with policymakers and contribute to the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
