Leh/Khaltsi/Kharu, [30-March 2026]: The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Leh, in collaboration with the Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) of Khaltsi, Kharu, and Leh zones, and with the support of the Deputy Chief Education Officer (Dy. CEO) Kharu, successfully organized Zonal-Level training programmes on the Holistic Progress Card (HPC) for Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) teachers.
The training witnessed active participation from teachers handling Balvatika to Grade 2, reflecting a strong commitment towards enhancing foundational learning outcomes. The initiative focused on equipping teachers with the skills required to implement competency-based, child-centric, and continuous assessment practices as envisioned under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The sessions were facilitated by Resource Persons and Master Trainers who had undergone specialized training at Nanritam, West Bengal. Drawing upon their expertise, they conducted comprehensive and interactive sessions on HPC implementation, activity-based pedagogy, and methods to assess and document the holistic development of learners. The training incorporated hands-on activities, group discussions, and practical demonstrations, ensuring meaningful engagement and experiential learning for all participants.
The collaborative efforts of DIET Leh, ZEOs of respective zones, and the Dy. CEO Kharu ensured the smooth and effective conduct of the programme. Teachers displayed enthusiastic participation and a keen interest in adopting innovative classroom practices aligned with modern educational frameworks.
Speaking on the occasion, an official from DIET Leh stated, “This training marks a crucial step towards strengthening the foundation of learning in our schools. By empowering teachers with the right tools and approaches for holistic assessment, we are ensuring that every child’s learning journey is effectively supported and nurtured.”
The Department appreciated the collective efforts of all stakeholders and reaffirmed its commitment to continuous professional development of teachers and the overall enhancement of foundational education across the district.
