    Leh, 30 June 2026 — The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Leh organized a formal welcome ceremony at the DIET Hall to extend its warmest greetings to Sh. S.D. Namgial, who has assumed charge as the new Principal of DIET Leh. The event was graced by faculty members, staff, and distinguished guests, reflecting the spirit of unity and commitment towards educational excellence in Ladakh.
    The programme commenced with a heartfelt welcome address, acknowledging the contributions of the former Principal, Sh. Mirza Mehdi, and celebrating the arrival of Sh. Namgial. Faculty members expressed their collective enthusiasm and pledged their support for his leadership in advancing DIET’s mission of strengthening school education and teacher development.
    A detailed budget presentation under the Samagra Shiksha scheme was delivered, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and strategic planning to ensure optimal use of resources for teacher training, infrastructure development, and innovative educational programmes. Alongside, DIET Leh showcased comprehensive reports documenting the work conducted over the past year, including professional development trainings, research initiatives focusing on local educational challenges, and creative teaching-learning materials (TLM) developed by faculty to enrich classroom practices.
    The ceremony also marked the introduction and warm welcome of newly joined staff members, who were formally presented to the gathering. Their inclusion was celebrated as a strengthening of DIET Leh’s academic and administrative capacity, with collective hopes for their valuable contributions to upcoming programmes and initiatives.
    The event concluded with collective aspirations for a new chapter under Sh. Namgial’s leadership, as faculty and staff reaffirmed their commitment to advancing DIET Leh’s vision of quality education, innovation, and holistic development for the children of Ladakh.
