Director ASH&F Ladakh, Dr Mohammad Iqbal visits Kargil.

Kargil, August 12, 2023:
Director, Animal/Sheep Husbandry & Fisheries Department UT Ladakh, Dr. Mohammad Iqbal today visited Kargil. The sectorial heads and other officers of Animal/Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Department received him at district border village of Hanaskote.
After assuming the charge of Director, it was his first visit to Kargil. The Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Leh who is also the Account Officer to the director accompanied the Director.
The director visited Yak Breeding Farm Bodh Kharboo and took stock of different activities of the farm. Dr Ashiq Hussain Manger YBF appraised in detail the fodder development programme and progress made in this regard.
At Pashmina Goat Farm Khangral, the director inspected the ongoing construction work of the office-cum-residence sanctioned under the SDP and directed the representative of executing agency to complete the work within the current financial year, in the farmland and directed the District Sheep Husbandry Officer Kargil to recommend his name for award.
Director also visited Fish Farm Wakha, Block Veterinary Officer, SHD Shargole and took stock in detail and directed immediate officers for further improvement and make programs/schemes farmers friendly.
He also paid a visit to Poultry Farm and Cattle Breeding Farm Kurbathang and expressed his satisfaction about the functioning of the Farms.
On 2nd day of his tour, the director visited Grazing Camp of Karakul Sheep Farm Khumbathng at Shapat Rangdum and enroute visited to Fish Farm Khachan, Fish Farm Damsna and newly constructed Veterinary Hospital Panikhar.
At grazing camp Silmo Brangsa he inspected the work of newly constructed staff quarter and shelter shed. He inspected the livestock on grazing.
The director informed the HODs that all the works proposed under SDP have been approved and liabilities of the previous year under State Capex have also been cleared.
He directed the officer to furnish the revised proposals of priority works under SDP which he will personally pursue at UT Ladakh.
On 3rd day of his tour, the director visited Drass Block and enroute visited various private Fish Farms and Govt. Fish Farm Drass. He also visited Merino Sheep Farm Lakthang and Veterinary Hospital of Animal Husbandry Department Drass.
In the evening, the director convened a meeting with all the officers of Animal/Sheep and Fisheries Department at Conference Hall of Sheep Husbandry Department Kargil and took a detailed review meeting regarding all the departmental activities and especially CSS scheme like SDP, NADCP, ISS, NLM, Pashudhan, Schemes under State Capex, District Capex and Subsidy Component, and expressed his satisfaction on achievement and progress of all there schemes.
Engaging veterinary graduates against vacant posts, timely availability of vaccines, insurance of livestock, departmental promotions etc. were the issues discussed besides timely completion of schemes in vogue.
In the end of the meeting, the director advised all the officers to work with zeal and zest and assured to resolve all the genuine request of the officers and officials. The meeting was concluded with thanks to the chair.
