    Drass, September 5: Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, UT Ladakh, Dr. Iftikhar Hussain, today visited Drass District and inaugurated the newly established office of the District Sheep Husbandry Officer (DSHO), Drass.
    During the visit, the Director inspected various ongoing projects and developmental works being undertaken by the Sheep Husbandry Department in the district.
    District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Drass, Dr. Zakir Hussain, welcomed the Director and District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Sadiq, who accompanied the Director during the visit.
    Dr. Zakir Hussain briefed the Director about the departmental establishments in the district, the office setup of the newly created DSHO Office, Drass, and various departmental activities being carried out in the district.
    The Director interacted with the officers and staff and reviewed the progress of various departmental activities.
    Dr. Iftikhar Hussain also visited the Grazing Camp at Minamarg, where he inspected the farm livestock and reviewed the arrangements for grazing, healthcare and proper management of the livestock by the department.
    The Director stressed the need for proper implementation of departmental programmes and directed the concerned officers and staff to complete the ongoing works within the stipulated timeframe and strictly as per the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs). He also emphasized the importance of providing better and timely services to livestock owners and ensuring proper care and management of livestock in the district.
    Dr. Iftikhar Hussain appreciated the DSHO, Drass, and his team for the early establishment of the DSHO Office, Drass, using the available departmental infrastructure.
    Dr. Zakir Hussain expressed gratitude to the Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, UT Ladakh, for his continuous support, guidance and cooperation in establishing the new office. He also thanked DSHO Kargil, Dr. Mohd Sadiq, for his valuable support and cooperation in the establishment and smooth functioning of the DSHO Office at Drass.
