Disaster Management and School Safety Training Programme Held at Moravian Mission School and Ladakh Public School.
Leh, October 06, 2026: Under the aegis of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Leh, in collaboration with the 13th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Disaster Management and School Safety Training Programme continued today at Moravian Mission School and Ladakh Public School, Leh.
The training programme was conducted at Moravian Mission School in the morning, followed by a separate session at Ladakh Public School in the afternoon. Students and staff of both schools actively participated in the programme.
The sessions commenced with a welcome address by Inspector Puran Singh Negi, followed by lecture-cum-demonstrations by the NDRF team. The training covered essential aspects of basic first aid, management of soft-tissue injuries, improvised stretcher-making, use of emergency floating rescue devices, and containment of LPG cylinder leakage and fire using wet blankets and buckets.
The sessions were attended by Deputy Commandant Mohd Shafiq, Inspector Puran Singh Negi, SI Narsing Yadav, Principal of Moravian Mission School Ms. Rachel Dendol, and Principal of Ladakh Public School Mr. Sonam Wangdu.
The district-wide training campaign covering educational institutions and government departments will continue until October 13, 2026, with the objective of strengthening disaster preparedness, awareness, and safety measures across the district.
